Am I a Candidate
Experience Life Changing Results With A Brand New Smile
Creating Your Long Lasting and Restored Smile
When living with missing, failing or decayed teeth, a lot more than just your oral health is jeopardized. These dental concerns can leave you feeling self-conscious, shying away from photos and even feeling pain and discomfort often. When it comes to tooth restoration, dental implants are the superior alternative to replacing one or more missing or failing teeth. However, without a proper examination of the mouth, it’s impossible to determine if an individual is a good candidate for a dental implant procedure. Traditionally, the best candidates for long-term dental implant success have enough bone at the implant site to support osseointegration – the process of fusing the dental implant and the jawbone. Delayed dental care can not only leave you feeling self-conscious longer, but create bigger obstacles down the road. If you’re unsure whether or not you qualify for dental implants, a consultation with Dr. Paul Mikhli can determine if you’re a dental implant candidate and create a treatment plan to achieve a healthy smile in just one visit!

Determining Your Implant Candidacy
Determining your implant candidacy requires a comprehensive evaluation with Dr. Mikhli. We will evaluate the condition of your current oral health by checking the condition of your gums, bone and teeth and request medical records to assess any systemic conditions or harmful lifestyle habits, smoking being one of them. However, we will determine your candidacy based on the following factors:
Gum Health
Dental implants require a healthy oral environment to remain successful long-term. Infection can damage your gum tissues and bone if left untreated and will need to be properly treated before dental implants can be placed during your dental implant procedure to avoid failure.
Bone Volume
A healthy jawbone is a key part to your dental implant success. If your jawbone lacks the necessary density and volume needed, your dental implants will not have the support they need to last long-term. If this happens, bone will need to be rebuilt and strengthened through bone grafting surgery.
Systemic Conditions
Knowing your medical history is a crucial part to receiving your dental implants as underlying medical conditions such as diabetes and immune system disorders make it more difficult for your body to heal after your dental implant procedure. If you have one of these conditions, it doesn’t mean dental implants are off the table. We will just have to adjust your treatment plan to incorporate oral health maintenance to improve the chances of successful results.
Physical Health
Dental implants are built to sustain daily regimens, but with proper maintenance, your dental implants have the potential to last a lifetime. This not only includes good oral health, but maintaining great physical health helps to create a healthy lifestyle full of good daily oral and physical habits.
Personalized Treatments For Your Picture Perfect Smile
As dental implants become an increasingly popular solution to restoring missing, failing and decayed teeth, dental implant procedures have become more customized to not only restore your smile, but restore your self-confidence and quality of life. Dental implants are so sought after due to their durability, longevity and restore functionality they provide to each of our patients. Secured in the jawbone for maximum strength, dental implants serve as tooth roots and offer a permanent solution to remedy tooth loss. While dental implants are our premium solution, they require a healthy amount of available jawbone for the implants to be screwed into to create a stable foundation for your new set of teeth. However, for some patients, there is a lack of jawbone for dental implants to use for support. This is nothing to fret over! Dr. Mikhli can help to restore smiles to those who lack jawbone by a process called bone grafting. Bone grafting allows Dr. Mikhli uses donor bone or takes bone from another place in your body such as your hip, chin, or shin and uses it as support for dental implants. Once your mouth is healed from the bone graft, you can proceed with your dental implant treatment process to restore your smile and bring back your zest for life!
